I went to Tablo Kitchen + Cafe with friends, and my first impression was how warm the place felt. The staff welcomed us nicely when we arrived, and the restaurant itself has a beautiful, relaxed setting.

A Place Where You Can Stay for a While

One thing I liked about Tablo is that you don’t really have to move somewhere else after eating. They have proper main dishes, drinks, desserts and coffee, so you can have dinner and stay for coffee afterwards while continuing your conversations. The servings were good too, especially if you are coming hungry or planning to share a few dishes with the table.

The food itself was good. I wouldn’t say I came away obsessing over one particular dish, but everything we had was enjoyable, and combined with the ambience, it made for a really nice dinner with friends.

Expect It to Get Lively

There were a lot of birthday celebrations when we visited.

Every now and then, another table would be celebrating, so the restaurant could get pretty lively. I didn’t mind it. We were there as a group ourselves, so the energy actually worked for the kind of night we were having. But that’s something I’d keep in mind depending on what you’re looking for. The interiors might give you that cozy restaurant feeling, but once it’s full, the atmosphere becomes much more energetic. If you want somewhere quiet where you can have a really intimate conversation, this probably wouldn’t be my first choice during peak hours. For family dinners, celebrations or catching up with friends, though? It works really well.
